Take a Bath

Yes, I am a Yoga teacher suggesting that you take a bath 🙄

Cliché I know…self care and all that, but hear me out.

There a many types of self care, from taking baths and massages, finding a great GP or psychologist, moving your body or tackling that life admin that has been bringing you down.

I’m here for both. I want a little bit of each kind of self care in my month, or even my week and day.

As a yogi and yoga teacher and person with a stressful day job, I am all about exploring different ways to discontect from constant interuptions, destress and recharge.

Think you don’t have time? Have a look at your phone screen time or skip that hour in front of the TV.

Taking a Restful Bath

Line Up Your Playlist or Podcast

I suggested having this downloaded to your phone prior to your bath so you can turn your phone on flight mode and just hit play when you get int.

You might like to try my Bath Time playlist on Spotify or your own.

I tend to choose podcasts that are fun or interesting rather than educational for my baths. I love Literary Friction and Routines & Ruts and podcast interviews with my favourite authors for a restful bath.

Soak in a Magnesium or Epson Salts

Mix in a small dish 1/2 Cup Magnesium Flakes, 1 TBS Fractionated Coconut Oil or Castile Soap, 4-6 drops total of Adaptiv, Lavender & Cedarwood / Vetiver. Pour the dish into your bath just before you climb in. I get my flakes and salts from Wholesome in the Adelaide Central Markets.

You might like to get prepared for a month of baths by making your own Bath Mix Jar. Fill a big empty jar (like a coconut oil jar or similar) with Magnesium flakes or epsom salts. As you fill pause every few cm to adda few drops of essential oil or an empty doTERRA Essential Oil bottle (cap off)to allow the flakes/salts to draw out the last few drops of essential oil. Shake before each use.

Soft or Natural Lighting

Turn off the lights, light some candles or put on your diffuser. Allow your eyes a rest from artificial lighting and screens.

Make a Cuppa

Try something caffeine and alcohol free to help you rest and also pour a glass of water.

Give Yourself an Hour

To do this you might need to let your family know, ask you kids to ask someone else if they need anything. Turn your phone on flight mode or take the landline off the hook.

Ok that’s it. Enjoy your bath!
