Simple and Mindful Gift Ideas
Simple and mindful gift ideas!
Simple and mindful gift ideas for the women in your life (or anyone really). Gift ideas perfect for mother’s day, a friend’s birthday, a thank you gift or something to bring when they say don’t bring a thing.
Bliss Balls - These can be made and gifted the same day or made ahead of time and frozen if needed. They are great to have some stashed in the freezer to take somewhere last minute or to keep as tasty snacks to have with your tea or coffee at home. My top tip for gifting these are freeze them in a regular container and once frozen, place into an up-cycled jar with a ribbon to gift.
Bath Soaks - Purchase some epson salts or magnesium flakes (I get mine from Wholesome in the Adelaide Central Markets), fill an up-cycled jar and add a 5-15 drops of oil depending on the size of the jar or how strong you would like the mix. I tend to pour in a little bit of salts/flakes, add a few drops of oil, shake and repeat until the jar is full so the essential oil has a chance to mix throughout. My go to oils for this are Adaptiv + Lavender (delicious for the nervous system), AromaTouch + Grapefruit (great for aches and circulation), Bergamot + Lavender (calming and fresh). Contact me if you are interested in purchasing the same essential oils I use. For those of you who have been using oils for a while you can fill your empty oil bottles with salts/flakes and gift as mini foot soaks!
Candles - Gift a hand poured and locally made candle by my Mum from Heather’s Soy Candles.
Gift Yoga - Gift a yoga pass to your loved one’s favourtie yoga studio, buy an online membership or maybe even a spot in my next class or workshop at Jeeva Yoga Studio.
A Book - I’m a massive fan of gifting and receiving books. Why? They can be gifted so thoughtfully, putting some thought into buying a book for someone you love that they will love is a pretty special thing. When I receive a book from a loved one that I love, I feel very seen and loved. More practically, books can be very affordable ($20-$35 for most books) and they are super easy to wrap! If you would like a book gift idea for someone you love you might like to check out my bookself blogs, which are all the blogs I have written that include book recommendations. If you are still stuck, send me a message with the subject line ‘help! I need a book recommendation’, send me three things about that person (what they do for work, for fun and something else that described them), plus your relationship to them and I will send you some book recommendations back.
Environmentally Friendly Wrapping Tips
Keep your empty essential oil bottles and jars to clean them and use to store gifts.
Wrap things in clean tea towels. Try go for ethically produced ones if you can. Everyone needs to replace their tea towels from time to time. For baby showers/new born presents, wrap in a muslin cloth or blanket.
Unwrap your own presents carefully and keep the gift bags, ribbon and wrapping to reuse. I don’t think I have actually even purchased wrapping by doing this.
Over time I might add to this list. I also suggest bookmarking it so you can come back to it next time you are stuck for a gift!
