The Books I Read in 2022

How do you pack for a holiday? As many books as pairs of socks yeah…?

At the start of 2020 I set myself a goal to read 52 books. On average one book a week. In 2021 having a daily reading habbit I reached 30 books pretty easily.

Some unexpected events in 2022 meant I had less time for reading that usual but in a very good way. From June onwards I was away on a climbing trip almost every month and I overestimated my reading time on these trips. I packed twice as many books for my days away…one for every mood but I only really read from two, even though it was too wet to climb.

In this blog I cover:

  • A list of all the books I read, with my links!

  • The books I have started but not yet finished.

  • My reading goal for 2023.

My Goal for 2023?

To use reading along with my yoga and meditation practises as regular down time for myself. These are the three things which nourish my nervous system the most and with the pace of work and life currently, I am realising I need them now more than ever. I’d also really like to finish all those unfinished books, plus the novels I have purchased this year but haven’t gotten to this year.

What am I Reading Now?

We are in the final days of 2022 as I hit publish on this article and I am currently reading Heart of the Grass Tree by Molly Murn, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and in my lunch breaks at work I’m making my way through Drop Bear by Evelyn Araluen. I’m also so close to finishing the audio book of The Untethered Soul.

Did you read any of the books I read? What was your favourite? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Get in contact with me here.

Looking forward to sharing with you my 2023 reads! I often share books as I read them in my weekly-ish Sunday morning email.
